Spring came early this year. It felt like summer arrived in April and came to stay. In July we had the heat wave of decades. I've been swimming all summer long. Summer still lingers on the sunny September mornings, but the fog tells a story about autumn arriving soon. Summer was a fairy tale. Now I feel ready to listen to the tales of sparkling autumn. September is after all, my favourite month....
After two long dark months of more or less constantly gloomy weather with snow, rain, fog and then more snow again the sun has finally returned. Sun! May she stay with us for a while. There is almost no snow left in my garden now, and the tulips and daffodils are slowly finding their way up from the ground. It's such a miracle every time, to watch how spring conquers winter.
is coming up next week, and my body really needs a break. I have been dealing with the late effects of a mononucleosis-infection for several months now, still feeling very fatigued and "out of order". I go to work as usual every day, then I spend my remaining energy on my children, my boyfriend and the cat. Photography can wait, I am not in shape to be as much out and about as I would wish. Inspiration is not there, or I am simply lacking the physical power to go through with it.
But spring will come again, viral infections may last long, but do not last forever, and I am pretty sure I am not done with photography yet, only on a necessary hiatus, waiting for new energy and ideas to come.
I hope you are all well, I still very much enjoy going through your work, wishing I had more to bring myself. I guess I will. In time.
This has been my winter so far, lost in lots of snowy days spent indoor, gazing at the world through a looking glass.

A short story to start the new year by Linlith, journal
A short story to start the new year
I see you look at me with your beautiful eyes
We're leaving
...to the moon and back to Pluto
:music: Leaving together for a Moon Safari :music:
We're off and no one can stop us
Escaping reality
Into the wild
Then...
Bring me home
