Spring is on the move. In the last week of February I could feel it everywhere. Then March arrived with all its small set-backs. Another round with snow, another endless wait.
I just returned from Berlin bringing along good memories, lots of pictures and a bad cold in the suitcase.
Winter break was good, full of sunny days, surprising good encounters, new music, new movies, a ship passing me by, making me want to change course.
I could feel my heart jump for a second, starting to beat again.
Then back, spending some days in bed with fever, coughing, watching the garden fill up with snow again, listening to the wind. Then silence.
I know it will not last that long. They predict warmer days soon to come.
I'll be back with more optimistic, springy features. In time.
For now, I'll keep warm and stay a little longer in the big "not yet" of early March.
It will all happen, all return to life again. In time I will make it happen for me too.
Soon, I predict from my jumping heart. Just not quite yet.
Float

Songs of September
Spring came early this year. It felt like summer arrived in April and came to stay. In July we had the heat wave of decades. I've been swimming all summer long.
Summer still lingers on the sunny September mornings, but the fog tells a story about autumn arriving soon. Summer was a fairy tale. Now I feel ready to listen to the tales of sparkling autumn. September is after all, my favourite month....

Enjoy autumn!
Here comes the sun
After two long dark months of more or less constantly gloomy weather with snow, rain, fog and then more snow again the sun has finally returned.
Sun! :sun:
May she stay with us for a while. There is almost no snow left in my garden now, and the tulips and daffodils are slowly finding their way up from the ground. It's such a miracle every time, to watch how spring conquers winter.
Winter break
is coming up next week, and my body really needs a break. I have been dealing with the late effects of a mononucleosis-infection for several months now, still feeling very fatigued and "out of order". I go to work as usual every day, then I spend my remaining energy on my children, my boyfriend and the cat. Photography can wait, I am not in shape to be as much out and about as I would wish. Inspiration is not there, or I am simply lacking the physical power to go through with it.
But spring will come again, viral infections may last long, but do not last forever, and I am pretty sure I am not done with photography yet, only on a necessary
